WINTER
WORK OUT
By Birgitta Lauren
Winter is a great time to get out doors. When the holidays are here, and snow
is starting to cover the ground again. And you are getting bored stiff with
your gym or other indoor exercise routine
Just because you're pregnant
doesn't mean you can only exercise indoors. So let's take it outside and enjoy
the cold out doors. A little exercise will keep you warm. Just make sure to
dress appropriately in several layers, so you can shed layers if you get too
hot. While pregnant cardiovascular exercise is fairly limited to walking,
snow shoeing and cross-country skiing. Other fun sports like ice-skating,
down hill skiing and such should be avoided by most pregnant women that are
not well-trained athletes in those sports. However, both walking and cross-country
skiing can be a lot of fun and quite a work out trekking through snow with
lots of clothes on.
