CHOCOLATE
MAKES HAPPIER BABIES?
Katri Raikkanen
at University of Helsinki studied chocolate consumption and stress levels.
Daily indulgences had a positive affect on baby's behavior. Infants smiled
and laughed more, and the babies of stressed women showed less fear of new
situations. This could result from feel good chemicals and antioxidants in
chocolate passed on to the baby. As long as the majority of calories you consume
comes from healthy foods and you don't have gestational diabetes, go ahead
and indulge in a little bit of cholocate. Moderation is key.
